Hi, I’m fiona….
Born and raised on the Isle of Islay, I’m a proud mother of four and grandmother to five wonderful grandchildren. I am a keen walker and staying active is important to me. I truly appreciate how daily activities can positively support good mental health and overall wellbeing.
I qualified as a mental health nurse many years ago and have worked in mental health for approximately 27 years. I spent many years nursing in various wards in Paisley before returning to nurse on Islay, my home. My background has mainly been in mental health nursing. I have worked mainly with severe and enduring illness including but not limited to depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, OCD, eating disorders, dementia and trauma. I qualified as a CBT Therapist (PGDip) in 2023 and have since set up my own business in private practice. My own personal journey has given me invaluable skills in engaging with others who are suffering and in need of help. It taught me the power of empathy and the difference that it can make to someone’s recovery.
I am accredited and a member of the British Association for Cognitive and Behavioural Psychotherapies (BABCP), the UK’s leading professional organisation that promotes and develops good practice. I am also registered with the Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC). I am passionate about the care of others and have spent my career caring for others with empathy and devotion. I have supported many individuals throughout their mental health journey to recovery.
